STORM  WATER  MANAGEMENT  PLAN
PUBLIC   QUESTIONNAIRE

The city of Hillview has been required to develop and implement a stormwater management plan to improve the water quality in the streams and lakes in and around our community by reducing the impact caused by rainwater (stormwater runoff).   You ask what does this mean to the individual citizen?  Our daily activities have an impact on the pollutants that are carried by rainwater into our local streams.   Simple actions such as disposing of leaves or grass clippings in the ditch behind your home, while seemingly insignificant, when done as a group have a negative impact on the quality of water in the streams.

The stormwater management plan includes activities such as:

*    Identifying and mapping the ditches, pipe, catch basins, etc. in our community that flow into the streams,

*    Reviewing current regulations that control dumping and drainage,

*    Educating our citizens and getting them involved in the stormwater management plan, and

*    Coordinating with our neighboring cities, the County, and the State to best utilize our resources to have a positive impact on         water quality.

We require your help in developing and implementing an effective plan that will meet the State requirements. We have developed a brief questionnaire to assist in identifying the relevant issues in our city.
